Burnout doesn’t always come from long hours.
Often, it comes from what people carry.
In leadership, especially in roles that involve supporting others, it’s easy to take on more than your role requires — not in responsibility, but in emotional weight.
You listen.
You support.
You care.
And over time, that care can become heavy.
Strong leaders learn something important:
You can care deeply without carrying everything.
This requires:
đź”· recognizing what is yours to hold, and what is not
đź”· creating boundaries that protect your energy
đź”· making space to process, instead of absorbing everything in the moment
đź”· reconnecting with yourself outside of the work you do
Caring is a strength.
But sustainable leadership requires knowing where that care needs limits.
You don’t have to carry everything to make a difference.
Leadership Reflection:
Where in your work or life are you carrying more than you need to, and what would it look like to set that weight down?
